Amazing Changes
The bible study in Saginaw that I have been fortunate enough to be able to lead has reached it's seventh week. It is only an eight week study, and there are so many mixed emotions concerning the impending end to the wonderful STUCK study by Jennie Allen.
Throughout the last seven weeks, I have been privileged to be witness to so many wonderful changes in the lives of the women that made their commitment to changing their lives through God. I have enjoyed, and learned so much from these women in the last seven weeks.
There is one lady in particular I want to share about. This woman, seven weeks ago was a shell of a person. Her opinion of herself being so extremely low that she could not even look up from the ground, let alone in the eyes of somebody who cared for her. She was so insecure and scared.
She heard of my study through a friend of hers that I had spoken with upon my first round of invites for the upcoming study. Her friend is not a believer in Christ, but when this friend expressed the interest to join, but that she would be too afraid to go by herself, her friend made the effort to come with her for support.
I am so glad she had such a wonderful friend to do this for her. I am so lucky that she did. I got to watch this woman grow in the Lord. It was so wonderful last night to hear her saying "yes, Lord" as I read scripture, it has been wonderful to watch the Lord work his miracle in her.
This recluse woman, is now out of her shell, she is looking directly in the eyes of the people around her. She is still a work in progress, but God is working here. God is telling her she is beautiful, talented, smart, caring, and yes, she is most definitely worth it!
She now walks around all the time outside visiting her friends, this extremely apologetic woman is now holding her head high, and her smile is so wide every time I see her. The amazing thing is, her smile is there when she thinks nobody is looking. What an amazing God we have to have all that pain and uncertainty flowing through us, and all we have to do is look to him and he will transform all that pain and turn it into such a blessing, such a miraculous wonderful thing!
We have most definitely decided as a group to continue the bible study. Next week, as we celebrate the closure of the STUCK study, we will decide which study to do next. Let's see where the good Lord takes us next. What does he want to show us, and what is the next exciting journey he will walk us through. I can't wait!
Thank you Lord Jesus for your guidance through these past weeks, thank you for being with us throughout this study. I can't believe how scared I was seven weeks ago about starting this study, being a leader, or even going door to door to invite ladies. To think, I almost backed out due to my own fears!
I as so glad I put my faith in the Lord to bring it all together, and to give me the wisdom needed to be able to be a leader. Just a beginner in Christ, yet he entrusted me with this amazing wonderful responsibility. Because I was obedient and followed the Lords command of me, lives are changing.
ALL GLORY AND PRAISE TO YOU LORD JESUS, FOR THROUGH YOU ALL THINGS ARE MADE POSSIBLE!
