Sanyu Foundation: JUNIOR WALUGEMBE

Sanyu Foundation: JUNIOR WALUGEMBE: Meet our friend  JUNIOR WALUGEMBE(THE FIRST BORNCHILD) He is the firstborn of both his parents. He was only 13 years old when the tragic incident of his Father’s murder occurred. He still recalls all that happened and testifies about his parents prolonged “domestic violence” which was evident in their everyday life in front of the kids.

He says, though he was young then, he became scared and suspicious about everything his mother said and did in their household especially, the last night before his father was killed.
She locked up Junior(13 years old) and Winnie(10 years old, then) in one bedroom, she was so mad, scolded and yelled at them badly until she commanded them to stop tapping the bedroom door and sleep.
She often told Junior that she hated him so much, being a boy he was a threat to her. She knew that if he grew up he would possibly find out the truth and seek revenge on his mother to recover his late fathers property.

So during her murder planning process Junior's mother often shouted at him and threatened that she would kill him first. He was so scared and confused, in a dilemma that he would not think of reporting his mother to authorities or sharing it with his father or family friends. The only person he shared it with was his younger sister,Winnie(10 years then). To this day,he still regrets that. He feels if he had he shared his mother’s threats with other people, maybe his father would not fallen victim at the hands of his mother.

Looking at him, one can clearly see through his eyes the agony, depression and trauma he experienced because of the tragic incident. He is so reserved and unhappy and gets lost in his own world most of the time.
In his own words, he says“…….I will never forgive my mother for killing my father in cold blood……” I heard him screen in the next bedroom …..”you have killed me, you the mother of children…” He cries as he shares his tragic story and says,….”I will never trust women”. He is 17 years old now.

Junior is such a polite and well-behaved boy. He is committed and likes his studies and also performs exceptionally well at school. He is always ahead of his class especially in science subjects. He would like to pursue an Engineering career, if only he was sure of getting school fees, textbooks and related essentials. He is waiting to write his final exams (Uganda national Examination Board,October-November, this year(2013.This will enable him to acquire an “Ordinary Level certificate. We have high hopes and wish him the very best of luck in his forthcoming exams.

Sanyu Foundation Uganda would like to help Junior join a better school with excellent performance record, in science subjects, for his Advanced level as well as University education. This can only be possible with your kind and generous donation/sponsorship.
