Ladies Bible Study @ Saginaw

About two months ago I was asked by a very troubled friend of mine to start a bible study. She said she just loved the changes she saw happening in me, and hoped to have some of it for herself. This is how God put on my heart to start a Ladies Bible Study Night in the place where I live and work.

Saginaw is a blink of a town, meaning if you blink on the way through you miss it entirely. There is a little store, a half of a wood mill, and a trailer park. That is about it. The park is sadly known for its problem tenants. I know when I tell people where I live, they tend to get the look of "Really? Saginaw? I'm so sorry."

There is a lot of condemnation for the park from the surrounding area. Some of the kids don't get to have their friends over because their parents fear the trailer park. It is sad really.

I fearfully went around after this friend inquired about a study, and asked other lady tenants if they would be interested, that it would be free of charge and all materials provided to them. I could not believe the response! I have six women that come to the study weekly, and fellowship with me.

We are doing an eight week study by Jennie Allen, an amazing writer. Her study called stuck is an amazing study, that helped to transform my life as it is today, and I am watching it bring these women into new phases of their own lives. We are all growing in God together.

This is something I would have never had the courage to do just a few months ago. I was so much weaker then. Unsure about my own abilities, I wasn't educated in God enough to lead a study, I was just a baby in Christ.

Last nights bible study was just amazing, I had to share. One of the ladies asked me if I knew my nickname around the park. I instantly got a little worried, as I recently became the on-site manager to help clean the place up a little bit. So, I kind of shrank inwards a little, then she said that since there are 2 Kim's here, Number one I am "Nice Kim", or "the Bible Girl", and now I have moved on up to the "Bible Teacher"

It was a very empowering night. They were all a little sad in the beginning last night, and when I asked why, they said that we had reached the half-way point of the study already, and they were sad it would be ending in just four short weeks. Then, no more bible study.

How amazing is God, I thought that nobody would come, I thought even if they did it would be a one time gig and they wouldn't come back. I thought I would be terrible at it. That just goes to show that God is the one that knows. He knows his plan, and for some amazing reason, he has big ones for me.

Next week I will be taking in a list of ideas for our next study, I am so excited about it! Watching what Stuck is doing in their lives, I can not wait to see what God has in store for us next!.

I think the most amazing praise I received last night came from the lady in the group that claims not to believe in God at all. She is the first one to ask about another study, she said to me last night, "you may just be stuck with me for a long time" Praise Jesus for that!

Please pray throughout the week for God to cover me with his wisdom, showing me how to properly minister to these wonderful women in such a way that glorifies him. Pray the good Lord will shine his everlasting light through me, and bring peace to all the women through his love.
